We are looking for an outstanding Ruby on Rail developer for a massively multiplayer mobile games project. If you want to work on the next generation of mobile locative games, get in touch!
About the role:
Building web app servers with Ruby on Rails, using Behaviour-Driven Development.
Building code to pass RSpec and Cucumber tests and extending and refactoring those tests.
Applications will need to built in a way that can be scaled and clustered, being able to handle potentially millions of JSON communication streams to and from iPhones and the servers.
Communicate with iOS developers to agree on optimal communications profiles.
Maintaining/committing/merging/branching code in Git.
Mentoring will be provided by our expert in behavioural-driven development and Ruby on multiplayer games for iOS and Android.
The Project Factory is located in Surry Hills, close to central Sydney and public transport.
What we need from you:
Demonstrable practical experience, with working code examples will be given higher priority than university degrees.
2+ years Ruby development
The ideal candidate will already have shown themselves to be a passionate Ruby developer that has shown a commitment to the principles of Behaviour Driven Development and can treat RSpec tests as the specification they need to write great code.
An appreciation of the principles of Open Source and actively contributing to code sharing sites such as GitHub will be highly regarded. Experience optimizing SQL queries using EXPLAIN and refactoring indexes and joins will be highly regarded.
