Miroma Project Factory, the digital development arm of Miroma Group, in collaboration with the Defence Force Welfare Association, launches the “CivStart” mobile app to support young Australian veterans transitioning out of the Australian Defence Force into civilian careers. The project was delivered as part of the Supporting Younger Veterans Grants Program, backed by the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Over 6,000 members of the Australian Defence Force leave each year, with 19% going on to be underemployed. The app provides comprehensive guidance for veterans, including understanding the civilian job market, networking strategies, interpreting job ads and preparing for interviews. Designed using Flutter and Google Material Design 3.0, CivStart is user-friendly and focused on helping veterans adapt to corporate culture and office dynamics, ultimately aiding their successful integration into civilian life.
Katherine Robinson, CEO of Miroma Project Factory, says of the project "We're immensely proud of CivStart's role in aiding young veterans' civilian transitions. Our collaboration, innovative technology, and design make CivStart a vital tool. We're excited about its continued positive impact and are dedicated to supporting our veterans' new career paths."
CivStart is available for free in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
