Transitioning from a military career to the civilian workforce can be a daunting and challenging process. Young Veterans often face difficulties in understanding how to approach the civilian job market, articulating their skills and strengths to potential employers and adapting to the corporate work environment.

MPF were awarded a grant from the Department of Veteran Affairs to create an app to support the younger veterans’ community as they transition out of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and establish themselves into the civilian workforce.
CivStart helps younger Veterans understand how the job market works, the value of their skills and how to leverage these, provides access to valuable job-hunting resources such as CVs, interview techniques and tips & tricks, provides guidance throughout their transition into the civilian workforce.

As we reflect on our journey to create CivStart, we are proud of the role we've played in assisting young veterans as they transition into civilian life. The collaboration with the Defence Force Welfare Association, the thoughtful design, and the utilisation of modern technology have all contributed to making CivStart a valuable tool for our veterans.
